English Language Proficiency Rating

For all Pilots who do not have their English Language Proficiency Rating (minimum Level 4), our ZCAA is busy arranging for ELPR Testing for Pilots, ATC, Radio Operators, and Flight Operations Officers (Dispatchers).

This is an ICAO requirement and as such is required by ZCARs 2.2.3. This does not apply to individuals who already have this rating endorsed on their respective licences. The testing will be conducted by a Foreign Approved Training Organisation that specialises in ELP Testing. The testing will be done Virtually using the ZOOM platform, and will last approximately 40-45minutes per candidate.

The cost will be approximately $100 (though this might come down depending on the number of candidates). It is planned to start the Testing from the second week of August. Those requiring an ELPR are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get one, as in the near future it is likely that no licences will be renewed without an ELPR Certificate of a minimum Level 4.
