ZCAA Stakeholders' Workshop

The AOOA attended the ZCAA Stakeholders' Workshop on 12th June, 2024, hosted by the ZCAA Board Chairperson.

The meeting was opened with an encouraging speech by the Hon Minister of Transport & Logistics Frank Museba Tayali MP, and proceedings were introduced by the ZCAA Chairperson and the recently appointed ZCAA Director-General Cpt Derrick F Luembe. Stakeholders included ZACL, Board of Airline Representatives Zambia, AOOA, and the Zambia Tourism Agency. Presentations were delivered by the ZCAA Board Chairperson, ZCAA DG, ZCAA Audit Preparedness Team re the current ICAO Audit, the ZACL recently appointed MD, BARZ Chairperson, AOOA President/Chairperson, and the ZTA CEO. 

Apart from stakeholders' presentations, discussions, questions and answers, other business presented by the ZCAA included a review of Matters Arising from the previous year's stakeholders' meeting, review of progress, achievements and challenges in the aviation sector, and launch of the ZCAA Strategic Plan (2023-2027).

Principle themes and the spirit of the meeting were stakeholder and partnership collaboration. The ZCAA stressed the importance of participation of stakeholders at key working committees and fora, and the Authority's determination to address aircraft owners' and operators' and indeed all stakeholders' needs and concerns in order to make the aviation sector a driving force in Zambia's economic development. 

Stakeholders and the AOOA in particular were thanked for their past and present support towards developing excellence in the aviation sector.
