Balla Balla Fly-In
The AOOA held a Fly-In and Spot-Landing Competition on Saturday 27th of August at Balla Balla Airfield in Chisamba. The event was a great success and a wonderful day of aviation was enjoyed by all. It was great to have many Air Traffic Controllers and ZCAA officers at the event as well as members of the public.
The spot-landing competition was the highlight of the day and took place in challenging winds. Edmund Farmer secured 1st place with a flawless performance followed by Newton Young and Lindsay Campbell in 2nd place and Andrew Pieri in 3rd.
Each year the AOOA awards the John Murphy Cup to an individual who is considered to have contributed the most to aviation in Zambia and this year the cup was awarded to Kenny Chiwaya. Congratulations Kenny and thank you for all you do to promote and support aviation in Zambia!
The AOOA would like to specially thank Lindsay Campbell for organising and Keith Radford for hosting the event and Andrew Woodley for his support in organising and providing delicious food and drink as always.
